Daniel Cook, D.D.S., M.S.

Dr. Daniel H. Cook received his dental degree from Marquette University in 1966 and a Master of Science degree with a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Marquette University in 1972. Dr. Cook has practiced in Lakewood, Washington, specializing in pediatric dentistry, since 1972. Dr. Cook has been active in serving his local and state components of the American Dental Association. He is a past president of the American Academy of Dental Practice Administration, a member of the Evergreen Pediatric Dentistry Study and Research Club, and the Northwest Network for Dental Excellence. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and is the facilitator for the Southwestern Washington Maxillo-Facial Review Board. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry named Dr. Cook to the first editorial board of the clinical section of the AAPD Journal of Pediatric Dentistry.

Locally, Dr. Cook is currently serving as the Pierce County Champion for the ABCD (Access to Baby and Child Dentistry) Program. The ABCD program focuses on preventative and restorative dental care for Medicaid-eligible children from birth to age 6.

Dr. Cook’s passion for dentistry and his commitment to learning and teaching have led him to lecture extensively throughout the United States and Canada on the topics of pediatric dentistry and dental practice administration. Dr. Cook is an instructor in the University of Washington graduate program in pediatric dentistry.

In the Tacoma community, Dr. Cook has been active as a leader of many civic and business organizations. Dr. Cook has served on the Board of Directors of both Annie Wright and Charles Wright Schools and is presently serving as a director of the Sound Banking Company. In 1983, Dr. Cook was named “Dentist Citizen of the Year” by the Washington State Dental Association as well as “Future Leader of Tacoma” by Time Magazine. In 2001, Dr. Cook was recognized as an “Unsung Dental Hero” by the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department for his dental contributions in Pierce County. Most recently, in 2006 Dr. Cook was named a “Top Dentist” by Seattle Magazine.

Lotus Su, D.D.S.

Dr Su is originally from Surrey, British Columbia.  Upon completion of her undergraduate degree in Life Sciences from Queen’s University in Ontario, Dr Su found her career aspiration in dentistry.  She pursued her dental education at New York University where she graduated with elite honors and numerous awards.  Inspired by her work with the inner city kids of New York, Dr Su went on to complete her pediatric dental specialist residency at the University of Pittsburgh in 2005.   

As a specialist in pediatric dentistry, Dr. Su is passionate about her work.  She feels privileged to have the opportunity to provide effective dental care, and improve a person’s oral health from a young age.  Dr Su believes that it is the role of a pediatric dentist to introduce children to a lifetime of positive and “no-fear” dental experience.  Working with children brightens her day!

Dr Su is a member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Society, Pierce County Dental Society, and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a certified provider for Washington State’s ABCD program.  Dr Su belongs to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an honor dental society, which is bestowed on the top 10% of dental graduates. 

In her spare time, Dr Su enjoys reading, music, traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Dr Su continuously maintains and updates her pediatric dental expertise by attending continuing education courses.  She is always excited to bringing new knowledge and techniques to our clinic.

Robert Chen, D.D.S., M.S.

Dr Chen is a native of Vancouver, British Columbia.  He received his doctor of dental surgery degree with honors from New York University in 2003 and continued with his specialty training in orthodontics at SUNY Buffalo Dental School.  Dr Chen received his Graduate Orthodontic Certificate and Master in Orthodontics degree in 2005. 

Dr Chen is passionate about orthodontics because the art of creating beautiful smiles changes people’s lives.  He believes a confident and gorgeous smile is part of the first impression experience that expresses who we are.  

In his spare time, Dr Chen enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with friends and families.

Dr Chen is a member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Society, Pierce County Dental Society, American Association of Orthodontist and American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr Chen belongs to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an honor dental society, which is bestowed on the top 10% of dental graduates.  Dr Chen has won numerous awards from the American Equilibration Society, American Academy of Periodontology, and 8^th District Orthodontics Society.

Dr Chen stays on the cutting edge of orthodontics and dentistry by completing numerous continuing education courses, and professional certifications.  He is a certified premiere Invisalign provider, an associate fellow in World Clinical Laser Institute and Great Lakes Orthodontic Laboratory.
